An annual event and fundraiser that provides a festive Thanksgiving luncheon for people experiencing homelessness in Santa Monica.
The People Concern is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Organization ID #95-6143865.
Donations help sustain the sack lunch program at The People Concern's Access Center in Santa Monica, a drop-in resource center that provides basic needs services to our unsheltered neighbors. This center serves 150 lunches a day, five days a week. A gift in support of Give Thanks & Gobble helps extend that care beyond the holiday.
Join us for a festive celebration and holiday meal at The People Concern's Cloverfield Services Center in Santa Monica on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The clients will receive a hearty turkey luncheon, gift bags, and raffle tickets to win prizes. We're expecting 120 to 140 neighbors from across The People Concern's sites.
The uplifting and joyful Give Thanks & Gobble event is one of The People Concern's most successful programs for enlisting new supporters and raising money.
Carved turkey from the Fairmont, sides from Homegirl Catering and pumpkin pie to finish, served at festive tables under the umbrellas. Seconds are always on the menu.
A DJ keeps the music going, Peet's Coffee keeps the cups full, and guests build and color 3D paper pumpkins between plates.
Every activity earns a raffle ticket, with headphones, Bluetooth speakers and gift cards drawn throughout the luncheon.
Each guest heads home with a drawstring backpack packed with a travel mug, a water bottle and travel-size toiletries.
The People Concern helps people experiencing homelessness and survivors of domestic violence across Los Angeles access safety, care, and stable housing. Services range from meals and showers to mental health care and permanent supportive housing, helping the most vulnerable neighbors meet their immediate needs while working toward long-term stability.
The Montgomery Family has agreed to coordinate Give Thanks & Gobble 2026. They are supported by tremendous donors and volunteers including the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, the Fairmont Century Plaza, Homeboy Industries, and Peet's Coffee.
